Meet Maria

Maria focuses on the whole unique person and helps them achieve their goals.

She wants to help you improve your overall health and be your best through positive nutrition and lifestyle.

​When she isn’t working, Maria likes to spend time hiking, biking, and kayaking in the national parks. She also loves gardening, creative cooking, photography, and travel.

​Her favorite foods are street tacos (anything goes!), grilled kabobs, and anything with creamy chocolate or lemon.

Maria is licensed in Maryland and Ohio.

Clinical Specialties

Maria is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a primary focus on: women’s health including menopause, PCOS, fibromyalgia, weight management, and healthy aging.

She also works with primarily adult and older teenage patients on thyroid health, genetics, food sensitivities and intolerances, histamine intolerance, gut health, medical nutrition therapy, and general nutrition.

At this time, Maria is not accepting new patients who do not meet the above criteria.

Maria’s Approaches

One size does not fit all. Maria’s patients benefit from her personalized approaches to nutrition care which include:

  • Provide ongoing education to prepare clients for the real world when it comes to making healthy food choices whether in a restaurant or grocery store, and guiding them on healthier cooking options.
  • Provide tips and education on healthy food swaps and how to prepare food that is healthy and tastes great without compromising food satisfaction.
  • Guide patients to listen to their body to identify food intolerances and changes in the digestive system for improved overall health and weight loss.
  • Focus on the importance of sleep, stress management, exercise, and physical activity.
  • Assessing the whole person and whole body physically and mentally.
  • Education on how nutrients affect the body physically and mentally.
  • Education on addressing possible underlying and possibly hidden intolerances or possible genetic mutations
  • Provide MRT testing and Nutrigenomics testing to help uncover root causes and guidance on improving diet, physical activity, and lifestyle for improved health, intolerance symptom management, and decreasing risk of disease.
  • Provide education on how all organ systems are linked and focus on the whole body.
  • Review of lab and other test results, past medical history, family medical history, symptoms, reproductive health, bowel movements / stool, diet, exercise, lifestyle, sleep, and stress to provide optimal recommendations.
  • Focus on balance of carbs, protein, and fiber and water intake (as well as nutrition) to help create healthier eating habits, healthier bowel movements, improved health, increased energy, physical healting, and weight management.
