Nutrition Lab Testing
We partner with several specialty labs to help our patients gain more insight into their health and nutrition status. We may recommend lab testing on an individual basis.
Most of these tests are not covered by health insurance.
We may also recommend lab testing that is covered by health insurance. In these cases, we will review the recommendations with you and send recommendations to your primary care provider.
If you are interested in specific tests, we recommend scheduling an appointment and discussing it with your provider.
Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory
Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory offers several specialty tests. The test we use most frequently is GI-Map.
GI-Map is a stool test that uses quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology to detect parasites, bacteria, H. pylori, fungi and other organisms. This test helps us identify causes of nutrition symptoms and be more specific in our nutrition recommendations.

Genetic Direction
Genetic Direction offers a suite of genetics-based health management programs. These programs help us develop very personalized nutrition plans for our patients.

NBX Wellness
NBX Wellness uses genetic data to provide a powerful view in to cellular function, pathway interactions, and the essential requirements for the body to perform as it should.
We use NBX’s nutrigenomics test to help determine the best plan of action for our patients.
Oxford Biomedical Technologies
We utilize the Mediator Release Test (MRT) to identify food sensitivities and other adverse food reactions.
This test is very different from common food sensitivity tests that use IgG testing or hair strand methods. Our patients work with a provider who is trained in the LEAP Protocol.
We use testing AND treatment to identify foods that should be avoided with the goal of building a well tolerated diet that includes a wide range of enjoyable foods.
(This test does not diagnose or treat IgE mediated food allergies or Celiac Disease. However, sometimes it is used alongside other testing and treatment in order to develop a comprehensive plan for patients with complex adverse food reactions.)
Results are never guaranteed, but we commonly see up to 80% reduction in symptoms when patients adhere to this protocol.
Precision Analytical
Precision Analytical provides hormone testing and reporting methods that we use to help patients find answers to complex clinical questions.
Testing is available for men and women. Tests provide more information on sex hormones and their metabolites, as well as cortisol and its patten throughout the day.

Individual tests may be combined to provide a more comprehensive measurement. Tests are done through urine and/or saliva samples.
Precision Point Diagnostics
Precision Point Diagnostics offers testing solutions that assist in the management of conditions commonly addressed by functional medicine.
In our practice, we utilize their Heavy Metals Urinalysis.
Ulta Lab Tests
Ulta Lab Tests offers a wide range of standard, conventional, and specialty lab tests. Over 2011 different Quest Diagnostic Lab Tests are available.
Many of these lab tests can be covered by health insurance when ordered by a medical provider. We recommend using your health insurance when possible.
However, sometimes it is more suitable to order labs directly.
When accessing labs through Ulta Lab Tests, you will receive an email with a recommendation from your provider. Upon payment, you will receive instructions for blood draw or sample collection at a local lab.
Vibrant Wellness
Vibrant Wellness offers a range of tests to help guide patients on their path to wellness.
In our practice, we utilize their Micronutrient Panel. This test measures nutrient status both inside and outside of the cells.
